OUIJA, or more fondly, Charlie Elizabeth June
Historically there's no art medium I don't reach for- I've spent my whole life creating and experimenting, from traditional artforms like drawing and painting, fusions of art and technology like fashion design and photography, or a direct expression of self, like music and performance.
Whether it's intentional or intuitive, everything I create is infused with my identity and experience as a Burmese and so-called Australian queer femme, my deep connection to underground nightlife, the strip club, 00's and 10's cyberspace, and of course, my ever-evolving spirituality. My biggest muses and inspirations have always drawn from sci-fi, fantasy, mysticism, and absurdity across all mediums- I'm drawn to any space where the boundaries of common reality are blurred, and self expression reigns.
Beyond individual artistic pursuits I'm deeply driven by community building and symbiotic collaboration. I strive to amplify, uplift and connect diverse voices through every creative project, creating art and experiences that are as empowering and inclusive as I can make them.
